Saraswati Puja, or as it is sometimes called, Basant Panchami (or Shree Panchami)–heralds spring’s arrival. It is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati (the deity of knowledge and language), as well as to the arts. This auspicious day is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, a Hindu deity of knowledge, language, and music. The spirit and dedication with which the festival celebrates its existence remains the same throughout the country. However, traditions are passed down from different generations to different states.
