Lord Hanuman is the symbol of strength, devotion and loyalty. Hanuman Jayanti marks the birth of the Lord Hanuman, the 11th Rudra Avatar of Lord Shiva. Chaitra Poornima is celebrated as Hanuman Jayanti every year. As per the Hindu calendar, it will be celebrated on 16th April, Saturday this year. Hanuman Ji is the sincere devotee of Lord Rama, and he is also known by other names as Bajrangbali or Anjaneya or Pawanputra. Lord Hanuman is the incarnation of Lord Shiva, and as per Ramayana, he is the son of King Kesari and Queen Anjana. It is believed that praying to Lord Hanuman gives you peace of mind, strength and confidence. One should recite Hanuman Chalisa on this day. You should sleep on the floor the last night before you fast and offer prayers to Lord Rama, Mata Sita and Lord Hanuman. The next day, take a shower and wear clean and new clothes. Take Sankalpa for the fast with water in your hand. Then, sit near the Lord Hanuman’s idol and face towards north or east for praying. And, then offer prayers to Lord Hanuman while reciting Hanuman Chalisa. One must offer “bhog” such as “Motichoor Laddoos” to Bajrangbali to get prosperity and success in life. Everyone has their own “Puja Vidhi”, but if it is performed with a pure heart and “nishtha,” or devotion then it is observed that Hanuman Ji connects with his followers and gives them “Pratyaksha Darshan” in today’s modern era also. We wish you all a very Happy Hanuman Jayanti. May this day bring strength and prosperity to your life.
