India is a land of festivals and traditions. Holi is one of the festivals celebrated with great enthusiasm and charm all across the nation. It is also called the “Festival of Colors” and the “Festival of Spring.” The festival mainly signifies and celebrates the divine and eternal love and union of Radha Krishna. Holi festival represents the triumph of good over evil as it marks the victory of Vishnu as Narasimha Narayana over Hiranyakashipu. This year Holi will fall on March 18 2022, Friday. It is celebrated on the Chaitra Month’s Pratipada of Krishna Paksha. In most of the locations, Holi is celebrated in two days. Choti Holi is celebrated on the first day of Holi, and on this day, Holika is worshipped and Holika Dahan is done. It will fall on March 17 2022, Thursday. And the second day is called ad as the “Rang Wali Holi.” On this day, people gather in the neighborhood and smear Gulal or colors on each other and cherish the joy of community festivities. Holashtak will be held eight days before Holi, and it is always forbidden to do any holy or auspicious work during this time. So, Holika Dahan, which is on March 17, starts from 9:20 PM to 10:31 PM in the night, and Purnima Tithi will also begin from 1:29 PM on the same day. And it will end at 12:47 PM on March 18, 2022.
