Ganesh Chaturthi 2021 and Hartalika Teej – Time and Date for the Festival!
The auspicious Hindu festival, Ganesh Chaturthi, also called Vinayaka Chaturthi or Vinayaka Chaviti or Ganeshotsav is celebrated for the arrival of Lord Ganesh to earth from Kailash Parvat, with his mother Goddess Gauri or Parvati. This year it is observed on September 10, Friday, and the holiest time for Ganesh Chaturthi Puja is from 11:03 AM till 1:33 PM. The Chaturthi Tithi will start at 12:18 AM on September 10 and finish at 9:57 PM on the same day. On September 9, Hartalika Teej will be celebrated to get the blessings of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Both the festivals are celebrated with great pomp and zeal in various states of India. Ganesh Chaturthi festival is celebrated for ten days and will conclude on September 21, 2021. During ten days, an idol of Lord Ganesh is brought home and worshipped for the whole period of the festival. On the tenth day, the idol is immersed in the water body, and this ritual is called Ganesh Visarjan. This day is also called the Anant Chaturdashi. As per the Hindu faith, all the significant events within the family and community are begun after having Lord Ganesh blessings. He is also known as the God of new beginnings. This festival is known for the ten days of worship rituals, celebrations, and special food items are prepared as offerings for the deity.
