Sankashti Chaturthi is celebrated in honor of and worshipping Lord Ganesha to overcome all the hindrances and obstacles of the individual’s lives. Lord Ganesha is known as an embodiment of knowledge, wisdom, and virtue and is declared by Lord Shiva as the most superior among all the Gods. This year, Sankashti Chaturthi will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 19, 2022. On this day, devotees dedicate the entire day to worshipping Lord Ganesha. They wake up early in the morning and take a shower. Some people observe complete fasting, while some perform partial fast. The Puja is performed in the evening. The Tithi timing is April 19, 4:39 PM – April 20, 1:53 PM. Lord Ganesha’s idol is decorated with flowers, and a lamp is also lit. People then read the vrat Katha, as per the particular month. On this day, it is also considered auspicious to recite the Sankashtnashana Sthothra, Ganesha Ashtottara, and Vakratunda Mahakaya. After seeing the moon, the fast is being broken. The favorite eatables of Lord Ganesha, such as Modaks, are prepared and offered. “Nariyal” is also offered to Lord to get the blessings from him. It is believed that worshipping Lord Ganesha on this day is very auspicious, leading to a prosperous and happy life. We wish you all a very Happy Sankashti Chaturthi! May your life be prosperous and successful in all aspects.
